As a small business owner thereā€™s already a million things on your plate. Add creating relevant and valuable content to the list and youā€™re likely to begin throwing all the plates youā€™ve been balancing. This year, Iā€™ve decided to make it easier on myself and go all in with utilizing AI to help me brainstorm ideas, create drafts, and finally get more sleep.

Whether youā€™re also on the AI train or not, you have to admit that AI has revolutionized the way we approach content creation and management. AI tools can analyze large datasets, predict trends, and provide insights in half the time it would typically take us. In fact, Forbes states that 64% of businesses are expected to use AI to increase productivity in 2024. With the proper use of these tools, we can facilitate a more efficient, targeted, and engaging content strategy. In this blog, Iā€™ll spend some time talking about my favorite tools ā€” Bard, ChatGPT, Notion, and HubSpot's free AI writer.

Bard: Think of Bard as your resident wordsmith with a built-in encyclopedia. This free-to-use language model from Google AI can dream up blog post ideas, craft social media captions, even write entire articles based on your prompts. Struggling with writer's block? Got a question about marketing trends? Need catchy email subject lines or killer product descriptions? Bard's got your back ā€“ and your business's front page.

ChatGPT: A close cousin to Bard, ChatGPT offers some serious support for content creation. Like Bard, it can churn out text formats, answer your questions, and even engage in some playful banter. However, there are some key differences to consider. ChatGPT focuses primarily on conversation and creative writing, while Bard shines in factual accuracy and research tasks. So, if you're looking for a brainstorming buddy for fiction or scriptwriting, ChatGPT might be a great fit. But for content that needs to be factually sound and grounded in real-world information, Bard's your guy (or AI, rather).

Notion: Imagine a notepad, spreadsheet, project management tool, and Pinterest board all rolled into one, sprinkled with magical organizational pixie dust. That's Notion. This free platform is your one-stop shop for brainstorming, planning, collaborating, and keeping your content creation process organized and efficient. Jot down ideas, build content calendars, collaborate with your team, and even embed multimedia ā€“ all in one beautiful, user-friendly interface. It's like Marie Kondo met Steve Jobs and had a digital organizing baby.

HubSpot: HubSpot's free tools will have you feeling like a marketing ninja without the flashy black suit. Create landing pages and popups, design eye-catching social media graphics, manage your email marketing, and even analyze your website traffic ā€“ all for free. It's like having a mini marketing agency living in your pocket, ready to help you attract leads, convert them into customers, and watch your business bloom.

Incorporating AI into your content strategy also offers numerous benefits including:

  • Time Efficiency: AI tools can significantly reduce the time spent on content creation and optimization. Think about it. A monthā€™s worth of blog and social content in only a couple of hours? Sounds like a game changer to me!

  • Improved Quality: With AI's assistance in grammar, style, and SEO, the overall quality of content improves. As business owners, our goal is to always provide value to our audience in a way thatā€™s easily consumable. The more value you give, the more likely your audience will become a customer.

  • Data-Driven Insights: AI tools provide valuable insights into audience preferences, enabling more targeted content strategies. This means youā€™re feeding your audience the exact content they want ā€” increasing your engagement and potential sales.

  • Scalability: AI tools allow small businesses to scale their content production without a proportional increase in resources. That means more money in your pocket to spend on other things that will scale the company.
